"Sword in Sandwich" is a 2D local multiplayer party game developed in Unity as part of a graduate class project. Tasked with creating a quick game jam-style experience around the theme “What makes a hero?”, our team of five designed a game where players compete to become the hero by extracting a sword from a sandwich - a twist on the children's story of 'Sword in the Stone' . This unique mechanic added a fun, competitive twist, ensuring every player had a chance to claim victory and earn the coveted role of hero.
As the artist for this game, I contributed to various aspects of its visual design, including creating 2D backgrounds, tileable platforms for levels, and designing visual effects using Unity's particle system. I focused on maintaining visual coherence throughout the game, ensuring that each element aligned with the overall aesthetic. For the visual effects, I created key components such as spawn, stun, charge-up, and death slash effects, adding energy and dynamism to the gameplay.
