This project provided valuable experience for me in understanding creation of different material using Substance Designer. For my final texturing project during the last semester of my graduate program, I developed three materials—brick, concrete, and metal doors—to create an environment piece. The process involved perfecting the materials and rendering them accurately in Unreal Engine. I began with a blockout in Unreal Engine 5, created assets in Maya, and imported the Substance Designer materials into Substance Painter to develop smart materials, which gave me greater control over texturing.
